Get Online Week is an international digital inclusion campaign organised by Good Thing Foundation Australia. Beginning in the UK in 2007 and was introduced to Australia in 2018. Get Online Week is a week long annual celebration that sees thousands of events take place each year giving everyone the chance to find the support they need to improve their digital skills. Last year thousands of events were held across Australia helping people get more out of life online.
This year’s Get Online Week campaign will take place from October 17 – 23 and we will be running a series of face to face morning or afternoon tea events in the Eurobodalla and Shoalhaven. See below for venues and dates.
Join us at our opening event in Batemans Bay on Monday October 17th at Bay Pavilions, 12 Vesper Street (opposite Maccas). You will be able to try one of 15 cool activities we’ve got lined up for you including “Family, Fun, Fitness and Future”.
Family – try simple new ways to connect with your family and friends from your Smartphone or tablet.
Fun – you can try some online games, virtual reality devices or find interesting and fun activities to do on the internet.
Fit – is your device fit for service? Is it up to date, and safe to use? Try our Personal Cyber Security Checklist to see if you are on track to protect yourself from hackers.
Future – Planning for the future and what comes next? Including 5G and new Government Services, Online Health Tools, and Work.
These events will have plenty of new technology, fun apps, access to online services, smart devices, and information sessions where you can try something new and have your questions answered by local professionals.
