How prepared are we?
In recent years with all the changes to technology and the internet, we have seen many cases where people have been affected by online scams, social media hacks and many other forms of unsafe practices. With some simple tools and education, many of these cases can be prevented. We are looking for local champions who can help keep our community members safe and informed.
What is Safer Internet Day?
Safer Internet Day is a worldwide event that raises awareness about online safety and encourages everyone to help create a better internet.
Celebrated in 150 countries, Safer Internet Day is coordinated by the joint Insafe/INHOPE network, with the support of the European Commission. In Australia, the eSafety Commissioner is responsible for managing and promoting Safer Internet Day.
In 2019, a record 500+ Safer Internet Day champions helped to spread information on critical online safety skills to over 10 million Australians.
